The Nine Divines are made up of eight Aedra and the human war-god hero Talos (Tiber Septim). The most powerful of the Daedra are referred to as Daedric Princes or Daedra Lords, and rule over their own planes of Oblivion, which they shaped. They are viewed variously as gods or demons by the inhabitants of Tamriel, although scholarly consensus discourages the use of the latter term. The majority of the original Eight Divines can be described as Aedra, as for the most part they were present. Are the 8 divines Aedra?Īt the time, there were Eight Divines, but at the end of the Second Era, the Emperor Tiber Septim transcended mortality to become Talos, the Ninth Divine. They’re worshipped and created the mortal plane so in that sense you could call them gods. No they aren’t ‘gods’ technically, they’re just different people to mortals. The Aedra are gods just as much as Zeus or Odin are gods. He wouldn’t be as strong in direct confrontation, however. Sheogorath and Vaermina are about equal, since both can cause madness through different methods. The weakest are Peryite, Namira, Nocturnal, Malacath, and Meridia.
